TheBooker-Lewis House offers a graceful balance of elegance, convenience and country charm. The house is listed on The National Register of Historic Places and is an example of Queen Anne Colonial Revival architectural style. It is located in the Leesville Historic District and retains many of the original windowpanes and all of the original Louisiana yellow pine door casings and floors. All four of the massive pocket doors are original as are the light fixtures in the dining room and foyer. Every guest room boasts its own unique personality with quilts, artwork, antiques, and antique reproductions.
Enjoy the simple indulgent charm of Callie's room - named after the wife of house builder, H.T. Booker. Adorned with a soft floral pattern quilt,an antique vanity and Clementine Hunter prints, Callie's room features an extravagant bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The Booker-Lewis House remained in the Lewis family until the current owners, the Roses, purchased the home in 2001. A blend of old, new, and unique, this room is named after their son, Robert Jesse. It sits between Callie and Ollie's room; a perfect place to relax and re-center.
H.T. Booker's daughter, Ollie, is this room's namesake. When she and Dr. Frank Taylor Lewis married, the two resided in the Booker house. Ollie's room is perfectly suited for a business or leisure. This room boasts a beautiful view of the backyard and a brilliant blend of history and modern day conveniences in the room itself.
Callie and H.T. Booker had two children, Hoy and Ollie. This room, named after Hoy, sits comfortably tucked away on the east side of the house. Overlooking the yard of trees and graceful flowerbeds, Hoy's room welcomes guests into a serene escape.
